With this you avoid burns when you reach between the oven grates. However, they could use an improvement. It would be nice if they were dark, gray or black as I can see they get dirty soon and give the oven a less clean look. Although they can be washed, some stains, such as B. blueberry pie drops, not removed. They don't cover the entire length of a standard shelf, but most of it. We probably don't need to touch the outside edges of the hot grate. So far the length has been fine for me.
