Review on High-Performance Intel Pentium E5300 2.6GHz Processor with 2 MB Cache (LGA775 Socket) by Jonathan Unruh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent processor for overclocking

I bought this processor in June 2010 to replace an old processor for my brother's computer to run WoW (World of Warcraft) with decent performance and to play on a then budget. Over time, this processor has become decent for running older games and just everyday use. This is not a high-end gaming processor, but when overclocked it is very good in all aspects of performance. My brother and I overclocked this processor to 3.2GHz on the stock heatsink it came with and idle temps were around 42C and above. We were also able to overclock this processor even higher to 3.8GHz using Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound and a cool Hyper 212 Plus secondary cooler in an Antec 900 gaming case. Good processor performance.2. Suitable for daily use.3. Easy to overclock with the original radiator. Cons-1. A bit expensive for an old processor.2. It's fine for everyday use, but if you like gaming, consider an Intel Core i5/AMD Phenom II X2 or higher processor for a decent gaming experience in today's PC games. Overall I give it a 7.9/10.
