I bought this sponge and seagrass sponge at the same time. This one is better in several ways. Being a natural sponge I expected individual qualities and this particular sponge is softer on one side than the other but I find that ok as when washing I like to 'scrub' some areas and treat other areas more gently . This size is a little big for washing your face, but it can also be used in the shower. It's stronger than a seaweed sponge which sheds a lot, is too soft to shower with and has a hard "stalk" that I had to cut off to even use. The structure and weight of this type of sponge is more durable when wet and keeps its shape better.
