. Loved my Dyson DC41 until the front roller suddenly stopped working. A month disassembling rollers, cleaning more and more thoroughly, using more disassembly tools, trying to fix Dyson problems. I've tried calling customer service multiple times but never got through, even though I was only 59th in line to speak to someone on one occasion. I tried the SMS based customer support and spent an hour and a half texting back and forth with someone trying to be helpful. The first half hour was all about looking up the serial number (remove the gray part if most of the car is gray) then they tried to find the car in their system. The next half hour consists of me being instructed to clean the rollers and no effort on my part could convince her that I had already done that, that really wasn't the problem. For half an hour they've been looking for another part that I haven't disassembled yet and need to try. I had to get another set of tools, take it apart, clean it and try the car AGAIN. No, it certainly didn't fix it, but when I got back to the conversation I wasn't surprised that the employee gave up and left. I tried to find a local handyman. No authorized Dyson repair within an hour's drive. The vacuum cleaner specialist said it would cost more money than a new unit and he didn't recommend taking it with you. He said Dyson builds in such a way that the clutches will eventually burn out and are so hard to fix that it's not worth it. That. I received an email recommendation from Revain for this $85 part. After reading customer reviews (I always do) I decided to take a chance and ordered the part. Arrived in a few days (I live in Alaska so that's impressive). As others have noted, it took about a minute and a half to swap it out on my machine. My Dyson works as usual. In about 5 minutes I vacuumed a whole can of dog hair off the carpet. Two days earlier I vacuumed with a shop vacuum, which took about an hour. As others have said, I wish I didn't have to replace this part at all, but since then I've been very pleased with how well it works and how easy it is to install. I hope others read this first and don't waste all the time I wasted (apart from reading this long rant).
