Went to the mechanic and he explained that I need a heater board, new radio etc and it would cost around $1300. Instead I spent about $200 on this kit, another $600 on the stereo, accessories and plumbing, and returned the radio and air conditioning and saved $500! I bought a silver color which is very similar to the silver finish on my G35. The climate control knobs aren't the same as the factory knobs, but after a month I can't even remember what the old factory knob looked like. I chose a double din radio which looks fantastic in the car. Unless you're an electronics connoisseur, I would advise finding a reputable site and paying for the installation. This is very difficult, at least when you buy a more sophisticated radio. Also, be prepared to spend a little more money if you still want your steering wheel controls to work etc. But you'll end up with a better stereo than you started with and for less than the dealer/mechanic will charge for the repair/replacement want same buggy console design.
