Comparing size 2 ECOBoom to Pampers size 2 and 7th generation, you can see that they are closer in size to Pampers. The absorption is not as good as Pampers, but better than the 7th generation. So overall a pretty good diaper (minus one star for the high price). I will use Pampers before bed, but I tend to use biodegradable, eco-friendly diapers for the day so they're great for that purpose. If you're familiar with the Andy Pandy brand, they remind me of them.
