Review on 🔧 3M 34240 Semi Rigid Plastic Repair: Expert Solution for Durable Plastic Restoration by Kevin Taharka

I used it to repair the urethane bumper on my Corolla. I brought a can of 3M 05907 Polyolefin Adhesion Promoter as directed in the instructions to better adhere to the bumper. I didn't want to buy this product and spend all my time doing this job lest it catch on in the end. I didn't have an expensive dispenser gun so I had to improvise using a drill to poke a hole in each epoxy can and then used a screwdriver handle to force the epoxy out. Make sure the doses of epoxy are the same each time you spray, as you want to mix it at a 1:1 ratio. Overall it was pretty good to use. I had two problems: The HARD part (pun intended) was that this adhesive is so strong that I had to use a metal file to sand down the epoxy to fix the plastic! I also had to use a Dremel tool with a whetstone attachment and it still took a long time! Another problem was that I couldn't use polyflex (polyester putty) over it like the instructions said. For those who don't know, polyester putty is similar to Bondo's glazing putty, only intended for use on flexible plastic parts like bumpers. Without putty I had holes and small defects. If I had known that, I would have chosen a different product. Next time I will use 3M 05887 EZ Sand Flexible for repairs.
