I saw a cheap quartz wall clock in the office with a slick second hand, decided I "needed" one of these and wanted to modify the clock I use for my ham shack to have them It's a movement. I did a little research and came across this device. Several hands are included but they were all too long for a watch so I trimmed my chosen hour, minute and second hands with a pair of very sharp wire cutters and an emery file. Also, the gear I bought had a shaft that was too long, and I had to route it with shims on the back to leave enough room for my hands behind the clear plastic front "glass". Last month he showed a good time and only lost a second or two in that time. I am happy.
