This is a very durable code reader. Comes with long OBD2 connector cable and USB cable. You can use the USB cable to update the device's firmware (this is easily done via the manufacturer's website). Also allows you to search and print diagnostic trouble codes on a Windows PC. The device does not require batteries, it is self-powered via the OBD2 connector. Nice color display. Please note: All of these devices (OBD2 readers) require some mechanical knowledge to get the most out of them. It clears most non-permanent codes fairly easily (turn off the CHECK ENGINE light, for example), but such codes can do a lot more once you know how to use them. It comes with a basic manual that does a good job of explaining how to use the device.
