This seems like a decent little grinder for the price. Most of the other grinders I looked at were standalone machines and cost more. It seems to be doing a pretty good job and doesn't look out of place in the kitchen or on the dining table. Several different reviews complain about the size of the compartments, the "O-ring" used under the handle, how to adjust the grind size, etc. This is a $20 salt and pepper grinder. If you want something better, buy one of the $150 sets. The instructions that came with your grinder explain how to use the bottom cover as a funnel to make filling the chambers easier. The guide also explains how to tighten the setting for a finer grind and loosen the setting for a coarse grind. The "O-ring" is not intended to seal the grinder, but to prevent salt and pepper from spilling from one compartment to another when handling the grinder, it is not subjected to stress and should last a while. The only complaint I have about the mill isn't really the mill's fault. The description doesn't say you shouldn't use 'wet' sea salt in the coffee grinder and I bought this to use in it. The instructions that came with the grinder clearly state not to use wet salts, but the description doesn't say so. Again, this is not a problem with the grinder, but with the description that came with it. Anyway, for the price, I'm happy with this purchase.
