I've been thinking and researching for weeks what different iPad/iPhone stands are available. I wanted him to handle both. It turns out that the tablet clip holds my large iPhone off-center on one side of the clip, so I never change the headband after using the phone a few times. Too many serpentine supports reported not being strong enough for the tablet's weight, so I ruled them out. I already had this type of articulation lamp, so I got used to the joints. I have yet to find a position that this unit will not fit. What I like about it so it's the hinged adjustment knobs to keep the tension and the many positioning holes at the base. The double ball head holder also has adjustment knobs for some flexibility or total stability. The only spot I didn't find entirely stable is the bolt clamp that attaches it to the furniture. Maybe I didn't tighten it enough to avoid damaging the furniture. I added fabric to give a little buffer for rubbing the round marker into the wood. It's fairly stable, but there's a slight wobble at this point. In general I am very happy with it. I use it every night and I'm never afraid of my iPad falling on my face. When I'm ready to sleep, I can easily dodge it. My only wish is that the manufacturer sells the clamp separately. I would use it regularly in two other places in my house, if only I could carry my hand around (which is a bit inconvenient) and not have to remove and move the clamp. Both hands are required to fiddle with the clamp and adjust the new position in which it will be installed, while only one hand is required to grip the lever. Another detail, replacing the head, is a mysterious operation poorly described in the instructions. I found a clue in the video. There is a hidden step that unlocks and blocks it.
