I hesitated with the purchase because of the photo of the kitten and did not want the cat to be tight and uncomfortable in it. It weighs about 9 or 10 pounds and goes in and out easily through a small door on the side. Inside is nice and spacious. It does smell strongly of factory plastic though, but hopefully it should go away like all new stuff. Also, the plastic they wrapped the bubble part of the window in didn't peel off the edges for a long time. They obviously already wrapped the part in plastic (tape) before adding the zipper, 3 rings, etc. So you have to dig a lot in the crevices to remove extra pieces. I had to carefully use a box cutter and then scrape it off with my fingernail.
