Unfortunately my poor older cat decided she didn't like the type of litter I switched to to save some money and immediately let me know that she was mostly dissatisfied with my choice to go straight to my beige living room rug to go about my business. Oh horror! I immediately reverted to the old bedding, but the damage was already done in more than a few places. I've tried every carpet cleaning solution I had on hand and although I managed to clean the areas, the stains have not gone away. In desperation I searched Revain and found Tech Stain Remover, since it was literally a last resort I went ahead and ordered an 8 oz. Bottle. Yes, it was expensive, especially with shipping, but the end result was worth it in my opinion. The instructions basically say to dampen the area, cover the stain and leave for a few minutes, then blot with warm water. I found that you don't actually need to soak the area, I sprayed the drops on and around it, let it sit, then used a damp, warm, old washcloth to remove the stain. My carpet is low density and high density and I wiped it down very carefully not to damage the pile more than necessary. In my case, just blotting didn't work. Well I can't praise Tech Remover enough! He completely removed the stains that nothing helped. I usually use one of the heavily used stain removers to get rid of stains, but homemade bugs are another matter and like I said above, nothing I've worked with works yet. Once the stains were gone I shampooed the carpet and it looks great now. This stain remover did not stain my carpet at all but of course everyone should test the stain before using it.
