This belt does what I was expecting.holds my pants up! While it's not the most stylish, it does the function of what I want without the bulk from a normal belt buckle. So easy to undo and do up too. I thought it may come undone on it's own when I first saw it, but hasn't yet. I'm trying to lose weight, so I don't want to buy new pants, and my smaller size pants don't fit around the waist quite as well as I would like (yes, I'm a bit chubby around the middle and too cheap to buy bigger pants! - darn middle age). I used to use the "rubber band" trick with my pants.but would have the problem with having to hike up my pants all the time.now, I don't have to use the rubber band, I get to wear my smaller sized jeans (that I WILL fit in to one day!), and don't have to constantly hike my pants up! Win win in my book. If you're looking for something that "looks" pretty.this isn't it. It's functional and works. Some reviewers commented that it's plastic. yes, it is.but I bet so is a lot of things they use (i.e. car parts).don't hear them complaining about that.the plastic is a hard plastic.and unless you severely abuse it, or try to break it, I don't see it breaking very easily. It's not the cheap plastic that containers are made of, or the plastic that yellows and gets brittle with sun exposure.get over the fact it's plastic. It works. I only gave it 3 stars for the "giftable" portion - because I think this would be a weird present to gift someone.unless they specifically asked for it. otherwise 5 stars!
