Not really something for beginners.

This book assumes that you are familiar with European knitting. There are very few patterns and, as mentioned, almost all hats are. I thought I read that there are two versions of each hat; a version simplified to two colors. This would be very helpful for a beginner knitter, but not in a book. Maybe after getting help with continental knitting I'll come back to this book and find it useful, but it seems expensive for what it is. I now have several library books for free.
