My Henge docking station for my Macbook Pro came with a short cable which I eventually broke while picking up the Macbook and trying to separate it in one movement. I didn't turn it off fast enough and snapped off one of the ends. USB-C is very confusing, there are charging cables, there are data cables, there are data cables with USB-C connectors, but only USB 2.0 speeds. After what seemed like hours of research, I finally settled on this cable, which was exactly what I needed since I use it with a docking station: charging capability and true USB 3.1 data transfer speed. I'm happy to report that two weeks later it's working great, my MBP is charging and my 4k monitor, USB ports and sound through the dock are working great. It's expensive, but it works, and I trust Belkin more than a random Revain.
