Revainrating 5 out of 5

THE BEST PLIERS I EVER USE! --Excellent functional design; Extremely well built and durable; Fantastic performance and minimal maintenance!

These are the BEST tweezers I have ever had. I originally bought the 12" but liked it so much that I bought the 9" and 16" sizes to complete the set. This is one of my favorite kitchen tools so I can make these Highly recommend pliers I have had many pliers that have warped, melted, broken, not gripped well etc. This was partly because I was too cheap to buy good pliers, it took me a while to get used to it to force me to buy those more expensive OXO Good Grips but I'm very glad I did.. These pliers can be closed with a mechanism which is a push-pull lever located on the back. The The food contact part of the tongs is made of stainless steel Since I cook in stainless steel coated cookware which is safe to use stainless steel cookware this is exactly what I wanted (if you have non-stick cookware some can species of coatings may be damaged as a result, as a warning). . If your cookware can safely support stainless steel cookware, THIS stainless steel headset offers maximum performance and durability. BUILD QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE In addition, these tongs are SUPER easy to grip and do a great job of preventing food from sliding down. Even when the food is heavy or covered with [slippery] oil, these tongs keep a steady grip. Processing is simple, consistent and functionally beneficial. Brushed stainless steel hides scratches/scuffs/hard water and increases stain/corrosion resistance. Silicone inserts are durable, heat resistant, removable for cleaning or replacement, and snap securely into place to prevent accidental pop out. The mechanism that closes them is large and easy to use (even with gloves / mittens), as strong as possible and accessible (practical hanging hole). shows no signs of fatigue. The hinge is also designed for heavy use and does not have excessive lateral play. In fact, despite intense and frequent use, my pliers still look and work the same as the day I bought them. Obviously OXO spent a lot of time on research and development because they created a very functional and durable product. I usually wash them in the dishwasher without removing the silicone inserts and they come out perfect every time. If they have a lot of caked food, I sometimes clean them with a metal polish called Bar Keeper's Friend (great touch). These pliers have survived countless cleaning cycles and cleaning chemicals/polishes. .SIZES --- WHAT SIZE? I first bought the 12" size and that's the size I use the most. Aside from that I LOVE the 16" when I'm doing something where more spacing is desired like turning bacon as the 16" gives a good spacing between my hand and the scalding hot fat. And while I use the 9" size least, it's still great when I'm making things in a smaller pot, as the smaller form factor makes it a little more nimble. Though I use all find three sizes very useful, i recommend if you only have one size, the 12" size. costs more than a lot of other pliers i've seen", i see where you're coming from as i've been there myself. However, I strongly recommend spending a few dollars more for these OXO Good Grips, because with this small price premium you get a product of exceptional quality: not only do these pliers last a very long time to make up for the higher purchase price, but also their good functional design. makes them more convenient (and therefore more enjoyable) to use. Convenience and indulgence can motivate you to cook more often, and cooking more often can save you money and potentially have a much healthier diet. So, like other premium kitchen tools, I see these quality tongs as an investment. )
