Although these pliers look strong, they don't hold up well. Tweezers are designed to be grasped and not grasped by the tips. Fragile items are difficult to lift, and larger items can become unstable and often slip sideways. Unfortunately, these pliers cannot be returned, although I bought them from Revain a few days ago. These pliers are designed to lock but DO NOT WORK. They were returned and the exact same product was sent. Pliers that DO NOT LOCK. The tongs are shown as they appear when closed, and not at all. They are too long to NOT be able to block them. The span takes up too much space in my dish drawer when open and is bulky as it mixes with other small kitchen utensils in that drawer. I had to tie them with a coffee bag tie to keep them relatively flat when stored!

I'm not a fan of these pliers. I find the angle of the pliers very limiting in what they can be used for. The tips touch, leaving the rest of the pliers with a large gap. I would only use them to grab large items or a specific item (like a steak). The design is terrible to serve pasta or salad. Fit, workmanship and material are first class. Upgrading the tongs so that more tongs are touching (parallel) instead would increase my rating to 5 stars. I ended up finding a pair of silicone tipped…

We got these about 18 months ago as our first pair had the same problem. Now, admittedly, we have a good dishwasher that gets very hot. But this thing says "dishwasher safe," so we're assuming it's fine. But like our first pair before it, the "ergonomic" black grip material covering the grip gradually becomes rough and sticky and begins to rub off your hand with every use. These are the BEST tweezers I have ever had. I originally bought the 12" but liked it so much that I bought the 9" and 16" sizes to complete the set.
