Well I'm a techie, I love everything electronic! I have had security cameras in my home for many years. I've mostly used Swann wired cameras with mixed feelings. But running new cables to upgrade the system just didn't bother me. I've been looking at NEST cameras since I've had smart thermostats and smoke/carbon monoxide alarms for a while, but the price is ridiculous! Also, your only option with them is a cloud service (at an additional cost). Then I spoke to a neighbor who sent me a screenshot of his YI camera. I have to say the quality was pretty impressive. So, with moderate expectations, I bought a four-pack for $119. Let me tell you that I'm very impressed with the image quality of these cameras. Setup is quick and easy. When I bought them I had no idea they had sound. The sound quality is incredible, plus it's a two-way speaker. I bought 32gb SD cards for everyone so I didn't have to use cloud storage and it works great! I have them set to record all movement and I typically have around 7 days of history on each camera. Both day and night vision are impressive, IMO. I've attached some photos so you can see the quality day and night. By the way, I installed a couple of "indoor cameras" outside. I also bought a rubber bushing/cap from Revain to make the Flipcam weatherproof for outdoor use. So far no problems through rain, snow and snow. I had to buy longer cables for a couple of my setups. No big deal, they're only a few bucks here at Revain. The iOS app is very functional but doesn't have a multi-camera, which would be nice.
