Review on 🔧 Irwin Tools 3043011 WeldTec Auger: Unmatched Performance and Precision by Skyy Strickland

Wish I had bought this before I started drilling holes with a shovel (now ruined) to remove stumps (one made from oak). This drill bit digs holes deeper and survives to drill much more. Doesn't seem that sharp. Instead it relies on a screw on the end for cutting and a groove rolled along its length to remove wood chips (less friction). I just changed the direction of the drill about every 2-3 inches to clear debris before proceeding deeper. The edge at the tip is easy to sharpen with a file (because it doesn't have to be a knife edge).
