Review on T316-Stainless Steel 1/16'' Wire Rope,7X7 Strand Core Marine Grade(200Ft) by Scott Pentapati

I am not a metallurgist or an industrial metrologist, so I cannot vouch for the chemical composition of the steel. However, I have left it outdoors (under a roof) for more than a week while there were several rain showers. These storms spray surfaces with a mist of mud, dust, and water. Other steel tools that I leave outside developed rust spots over the same interval; this wire rope did not. I ordered some 304 stainless products at the same time, and these also have not exhibited any signs of rust (which is as expected), but the results so far are at least consistent with the claim of 316 stainless.The spool arrived wrapped in polyethylene film, which is required to keep the somewhat stiff wire from unspooling. When I had cut wire for my immediate needs, I wrapped the film back around the spool to keep it from unwinding.
