Review on 🚴 Vont Pyro Bike Light Set - USB Rechargeable, Ultra Bright Front and Back Bicycle Light, Longer Battery Life, Waterproof, 4 Modes (2 Cables, 4 Straps) by Trevor Bannister

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Try reluctance and I was justified.

Let me tell you straight away that I have never endorsed the idea of USB rechargeable bike lights, mainly because most of them have extremely poor battery life and some only last 6 hours depending on the Settings. I had an incentive to try Wonta although I was skeptical. First, they are advertised as waterproof. I haven't tested it and trust me I rarely if ever ride in the rain. The size is about half a dollar in diameter with three LEDs arranged in a triangle. In the brightest light it is impossible to look at them as they are really bright. The 2nd setting is a darker version of the number, the 3rd is a constant blink, the 4th is a sequential skipping blink and finally off. A full charge out of the box took about 2 1/2 hours. The lights have a clip on the back and 4 solid rubber mounts, so almost any mounting scenario you need is available. How can you get extra strips since each light only requires one? Now, according to the 1-page user manual, the battery life is about 9 +/- hours per charge. I've done 3 rides on my bike for a total of about 10 hours and they're still bright. Nice surprise and lifetime warranty. Therefore, I still prefer flashlights with conventional batteries. I find they last significantly longer than rechargeables, but for what they are and at a competitive price, Vonts are a great buy. After my first review, I downgraded my rating to 3 stars. Shortly after the view, the white light began dimming prematurely and mysteriously turning itself off. When I noticed it I tried turning it back on and it came on but only for a few minutes and then went off again. I also began to see a reduction in life due to red light. I contacted Vaughn and they immediately sent me new headlights. Unfortunately, I've found that they aren't much better than the original. My only option is to conscientiously charge them between each ride. Overall a good company but not a very good light. I went back to my front and rear battery powered headlights. I've found that regular alkaline flashlights can last me an entire season. I prefer this to frequent headlight charging.
