Review on QEDT Cabinet Magnet Latch - Premium Magnetic Solution for Cabinets and Drawers - Easy Install, Screws Included - Set of 12 (Brown) by John Wood

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Wrong screws; hard to adjust

They supplied the wrong screws and the heads are sticking out of the firing pin. So it depends on how strong the magnets hold. If the magnetic part hits the extended screw head, the holding force is weak. However, if you are lucky and the magnet piece gets caught between the protruding screw heads, you will have too much holding power and the cabinet door will be difficult to pull out. After a few installs I decided to install the strikers differently. I adjust them so that part of the magnet forms a T (not parallel) when it hits. This makes it unlikely that the elongated screw head will be hit, so the thrust is constant. The strike plate has less contact with the magnet, but the holding power is almost perfect. The doors hold, but can be opened with little effort. After this installation the cabinet locks worked perfectly and my wife and I are happy with it. They are of good value. If the company had included the correct screws I would rate these magnetic clasps a 5.
