Read reviews that this item should not be left in a cast iron skillet while you are cooking. I'm confused because that's why I bought it. If it's just getting the pan out of the oven that's one thing, but I was expecting something to cover the pan handle while I was cooking. It didn't help. I will not be returning it but I am keeping it to take the pans out of the oven but I need another handle cover for my cast iron skillet that will PROTECT my hand from the heat of cooking on the stove. However, for the manufacturer's sake, I will try to put it on and off the pan and move it around the burner while cooking.
