I was very disappointed with these banana jacks. The "brass" bushing was made of a type of metal that repels solder. I had to use a lot of flux and a lot of heat to get a practically unusable solder joint. The red and black insulating jacket was made of very hard plastic, so that the strain relief would not give way at all. Eventually the parts didn't fit together properly. I couldn't "plant" sockets in cabinets. Finally, after trying the usual tools, I had to clamp the shrouds in a large vise and use a hammer to hammer the bushings into place. This resulted in some minor cosmetic damage, but the pre-made plugs were usable.
