I've been using Vega products for at least 3 years and have spent over 4 figures on their diet and powder supplements in that time. At best, their tastes can be controlled - find the ones you like and stick with them. At worst, they're just gross, so much so that when I tried to give them away, people thought the samples were too gross. I ended up throwing away some flavors. If you can, find samples at events or in small packages. Unfortunately, not all flavors are available this way, so a lot of trial and error is required. The macros and ingredients in this particular product are pretty good for increasing your daily protein intake. As some of you may know, eating a large amount of low-calorie vegan protein is very difficult, but such a product helps. You can eat delicious vegan food on a regular basis and get a large portion of protein from Vega. I sound like a fan right? So why the 2 star rating? Complete lack of transparency. All plant proteins are susceptible to heavy metal contamination, and most companies test and publish their results publicly or upon request. Partly to comply with California Proposition 65, but also to sell products responsibly and earn consumer trust. However, recent independent reports concluded that Vega has fairly high levels of harmful heavy metals. I wrote to ask for their test numbers and met with resistance. This lack of transparency makes me look for a new brand. Here is her full answer. "Thank you for your feedback. We have robust quality assurance programs in place that methodically test our products for safety and quality, ensuring our products meet our own strict internal standards as well as any government regulations. We do not share our testing methods or results. Please note that we are responsible for the safety of our products "As you can see they want you to have blind faith in their product which fits into a very loosely regulated category. What they are saying is to help you feel better feel, but you trust the words of a commercial company very much, if they have nothing to hide, why are they so secretive?
