It seems that 4K players are not yet perfect. Everyone you've read about has issues with freezes blocking the player or brief freezes in the movie (even with the best 4k HDMI cable). I had a much more expensive Sony that did this all the time. I couldn't master a single film with him. So they returned it, and due to the fact that every player has such copies, I looked for decent reviews and at a great price. I found and bought it. I should add that my TV and soundbar are also LG, so it felt natural. This is a kind of simple player. It must be firmly connected to your network to update and stream Netflix, Hulu, etc. But guess what? Or it works really well. This is many times better than the Sony I had. Actually k only had a short crash at 4k and it was very short. Image quality is as expected. Excellent. It is also compatible with LG Smart TV remote controls. I highly recommend this for your first 4k player. If you want all the bells and whistles of a high-end player, I'd wait for firmware and players to improve. Get it first. It won't break the bank. Your mileage can be very good. Sometimes the problems are related to the film. So if you have a problem, be sure to try multiple players.
