I put them on my previously closed boots and they immediately fell off. I walked 10 feet out of the garage and didn't even realize one of them had fallen. This product is not intended for permanent use. I mixed some epoxy and added glue to the front and back of the spike cap where it looks like they should hold the spike and see if that helps. This product may not be sold to third parties for its intended purpose. Yes, my boots weren't brand new, but they were always pre-coated and like new. Hope the epoxy works. Lids are important and should remain. They are not intended for their own purposes. You don't have to worry about putting on and taking off your boots. The material itself seems good. I would suggest a redesign.
