I bought this American made toy, durable imaginative toy for different ages, no batteries for my kids (6,3 yrs). , and 1). And they were worth it. The children love its simplicity and keep trying to build towers higher and higher. Then a one-year-old child knocks her over with relish. They are made from beautiful maple wood and sanded to a smooth finish. You don't have to worry about Chinese chemicals or lead on these blocks. These well made blocks will definitely be passed down through the years. A word of caution; They are solid blocks of wood that can do damage if thrown or dropped on their toes. UPDATE: Well it's been almost a year and here's an update. This toy still comes out at least once a week, which is way more than any other electronic toy that hasn't broken since last Christmas. My 7 year old girl loves to build "castles". My 3 year old uses them to build forts for his green army men and build "towers". My 2 year old girl likes to destroy anything other kids build.
