The tray is too small/narrow. Why? In addition, the tray easily tips over if you are not careful how you place it. I don't understand why the tray isn't the same width as the toolbox, it's both a waste of space (can't fit enough commonly used items on it) and a horror in terms of convenience/functionality. as it tends to spill everything too easily into the large compartment. There's no good reason for this narrow tray, not that you can reach anything through the gap at the bottom - just stupid. If the design would at least make it easy to place the tray securely in place, but it doesn't, it requires extremely careful placement - the last thing I want to worry about when using my toolbox. Can't comment on long term use yet but the tray design is a egregious flaw that would put me off personally buying this in a store. Fix that and this toolbox will rank much higher. Be that as it may, a point is generous. Very disappointed, I thought Stanley products were reliable and designed for ease of use - based on that point I would not buy or recommend their products.
