Review on ⌚ Fossil Collider Hybrid Smartwatch HR - Always-On Display, Heart Rate Monitoring, Activity Tracking, Smartphone Alerts, Message Previews by Brandon Boones

GREAT WATCH IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING IT FOR.

Update: Many problems have been fixed after the last firmware update. 1- Added Do Not Disturb mode, now you can access all watch functions by long pressing the middle button. 2- Added support for notifications for many major applications (FaceTime, Skype, Viber, etc.). 3- Step tracking is a bit more accurate now. 4- Added ability to use custom images as watch faces. 5- Added new difficulties: battery percentage and calories. Battery Refresh: If you use the workout and timer features daily, expect less battery life - 8 days maximum - on a single charge, but as it only takes 1 hour to fully charge the battery, it's worth it. Overall, Fossil does a great job with a relatively new concept. Long story short, this isn't a smartwatch replacement. So if you want all the smartwatch features, look elsewhere. This is a fortnightly review of the stainless steel Collider model. Just a backstory on why I wanted a hybrid watch, I wear a regular watch with a fitness band. The battery life of this classic looking watch is excellent (11 days on a single charge from 94%). The iPhone app has 13 whitelisted apps that are part of the MINIMALIST SMARTWATCH. The pedometer is not that accurate (adds 500-1000 steps per day). However, the sleep tracking is accurate. The vibration is subtle enough for notifications, but I wouldn't rely on it as an alarm to wake me up. Music controls are fun once you get used to the buttons. You won't be able to reply to messages or communicate with Siri via - but I don't really care about that. The E Ink display can be seen in almost any environment. In dark areas, double-tapping illuminates the screen. All in all, this is the most beautiful hybrid watch yet. The iPhone software is easy to navigate and simple enough for everyday use. ConclusionsPros:1- Battery life2- Aesthetics.3- Nice user interface4- E Ink Cons:1- Fitness tracking is not accurate.2- Cannot reply to messages3- Limited app support

Excellent watch, but it's still very new and needs further software development
