Had to use a piece of flat bar as the combined dimensions just didn't do the job of ball joints on the front of a mid 90's Ford F-250. But I did it with a piece of flat steel. What you can expect is a reasonable price, freshly advertised or slightly modified depending on your application. I think most people won't encounter this problem anyway.
