Packaging is questionable as the item comes in a sealed box with no additional packaging. The item is just hanging around in the box, but it's real. Pry off the ends of the hose fittings and spray some WD-40 or other liquid lubricant to remove the tight hoses from the stock thermostat. You can use a pry bar or screwdriver to remove the OEM hoses from the OEM thermostat as there are places you can pry off. The OEM hoses are very narrow for the replacement. You will have to move a little and make an effort to reattach the hose. Even if some coolant acts as a lubricant on the seals. My P0128 removed and the car started and runs as it should. 2007 Z4
