Perfect fit for BMW X3 2010

BMW X3 E83 with N52 engine is still running after 6 months. Installation is tedious but can be done with a little patience and a long screwdriver after removing the clip from below and removing the passenger tire.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Available in white only

Not Quite OEM - Thermostats

Whilst this fits the 2011 BMW X5 correctly, the original hose fitting had a 90 degree connector. It's not like this. The factory hose does not fit. I had to buy an extra hose, adapter and 90 degree elbow. Not easy.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Slightly dented

direct landing on 06 325i; replaced the water pump.

Straight fit on 06 325i; replaced with a water pump as it should be given the pain it takes to get here. The hoses can actually be welded on when replacing (especially the plastic tie on the offset piece. Just work back and forth until it comes loose.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Pleated

Installed on my 2010 BMW 535xi for a long time. I blame BMW engineers. After 6 hours I had a water pump and thermostat installed. It's been 3 days, no leaks, everything works fine. I did an electronic auto-priming process and it worked successfully. I'd love it if someone created quasi-instructions for this process because it looked like a Rubik's Cube to me, and I'm sure others have done it. real do-it-yourself PITA.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Part broke the day after installation

We bought this because my thermostat was stuck open (no big deal) but I kept getting a service light so I took it to a local shop I trusted. very much. He told me to keep an eye on the coolant and make sure there weren't any leaks because the part wasn't well made. well low and now i go to work and all the antifreeze is sitting under my car. I am returning it to my mechanic and the part is cracked. where it should be sealed. So I spend MORE MONEY on a new part and again pay my mechanic for his…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Expensive

Perfect replacement and functionality.

Packaging is questionable as the item comes in a sealed box with no additional packaging. The item is just hanging around in the box, but it's real. Pry off the ends of the hose fittings and spray some WD-40 or other liquid lubricant to remove the tight hoses from the stock thermostat. You can use a pry bar or screwdriver to remove the OEM hoses from the OEM thermostat as there are places you can pry off. The OEM hoses are very narrow for the replacement. You will have to move a little and make

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Worked great and to say it fits like a glove.

Worked great and to say it fits like a glove would be an understatement. Good luck with the install, I only had the ramps and not the jacks when I changed them. Due to the tight fit and limited space under the vehicle, it was nearly impossible to reinstall the T-Stat and pump. I had to remove the radiator fan and intake manifold to get it working. A low profile jack long enough to get under the front subframe and rear differential with some jacks, or a real car lift/lift might not have the…

Better packaging and a sealed box would be nice, but works well.

2006 BMW 330i The thermostat housing was not sealed and the thermostat just sat in there with no additional protection. The packaging says Made in Germany. The thermostat worked well, except it took a bit of KY and superhuman strength to connect the larger plastic hose. Please note the OEM is Wahler (like my old thermostat). Your old thermostat might have an aluminum body, but all new ones are plastic. The replacement procedure can be found online, but here's the summary: Remove the main skid…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
