Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ Arlington DVFR1W-1: Convenient Single Gang Recessed Electrical Outlet Mounting Box by Lamont Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well and without any problems. However, note that it is quite large.

This is very cool. I discarded the electrical and GFCI plates that came with the kit and installed the keystone plate (for ethernet). I have two ethernet cables coming out from behind my wall mounted TV and there just isn't room. This works great and is very easy. The only thing I don't like is the size. I had to widen the hole significantly to make it fit. I wish they had made real surrounds that go into the wall just a bit and don't take up as much space. Aside from the cutout in the wall, the sizing issue is that the top now protrudes above the top of my TV, which the previous (non-recessed) panel didn't. Another minor quibble, the hole on the bottom wasn't *big enough* for me to plug in the Ethernet keystone jack that was already installed. I had to bring him a file. I suppose I could take the jack apart, slip the cable through, then reinstall. But what a pain! Anyway they could make it just a few mm bigger and that would help a lot. In any case, it does its job and is very simple, which is why I think it gets 5 stars.
