Eh. Everything is OK. Not the best tool I've ever owned, but not the worst either. As soon as I took the calipers out of the box, I realized they were made in India. Sandy feeling when opening and closing calipers with adjustment ring. The drag screw appears to be for locking and unlocking the latch only. There is no difference in resistance as far as I can tell. laser markings? May be. But certainly very sloppy graduation with laser edges. A little hard to read but maybe I just need to update my glasses prescription. For $10, it's accurate enough to the millimeter. I ordered some plastic for $7 for a set of three. They are easier to read and just as accurate with a much better vernier scale. I will return this one. I never get to that.
