It’s an air mattress
I haven’t took it on the road yet but I did inflate it in my vehicle at home. You can’t expect much from an air mattress but if you lay a foam over it then that will make it soft. I have no idea how it is with holding air yet. I sure hope I’m not let down.

It works just fine. Mine sprung a leak on one of the main chambers after first few days of use. I am sure most others won’t have the same problems but I do expect something I buy to last more than one trip
