I washed them once before using, they are already quite absorbent. My family uses a lot of paper towels, what a pity! I was worried they would get lost at the bottom of the box but I followed the simple instructions and successfully put them back on the roll. I placed them on the windowsill right next to the paper towels and I still haven't touched the paper towels! Every time I buy a paper towel, I grab a reusable one instead. I quickly realized how many paper towels were used and thrown away but not really dirty. If nothing spills, I only use one or two of these throughout the day. We used to use a whole roll of paper towels a day sometimes, mostly just to dry our clean hands after washing.
