Every man (and every avid woman) should own an angle grinder. They must be issued when you receive your driver's license. There is an endless number of uses that you will find for this type of tool. My favorite grinder is Hitachi, bulletproof. It refuses to die, even though I abuse it and make unreasonable demands on the instrument. But for me this is a new meat grinder. I bought it to remove mortar to re-mortar the brick steps of my house. I wasn't keen on using the Hitachi because it would eat the bricks alive if my drunken hands slipped (I always do this type of work after a few beers. Okay, I only do work after a few beers. Okay, I never wake up without a few beers). In any case, the possibility of reducing the speed makes this grinder more precise. ideal for grouting. And it doesn't scatter dust anywhere. If they had variable speed angle grinders when I bought my Hitachi I could have gone down this route and only had one tool. But it's nice to have a powerful rough tool as well as a handyman tool. The variable speed makes this grinder much more useful for a variety of tasks. This is a great addition to any tool box.
