Maybe I'm crazy but I've installed them on drywall and have been very impressed with their durability. They held my Xbox One controller and Corsair headphones with no issues. However, after a reshuffle in my office, I wanted to move her to another location and that's when things got out of hand. These suction cups stuck in well and I had to rip them off and eventually rip out a piece of drywall. It was easy to patch and fix the holes, but it also rendered these mounts useless. In my case, it's definitely a one-time use, and I don't think I'm tied to one place enough to safely use these mounts again. So I guess the verdict is this: if you use them on drywall they will work, but be ABSOLUTELY SURE you're going to need them there for a very long time.
