This is a sturdy multimeter that is accurate and works as advertised. However, the 38SW-A RS232 software/cable it connects to (sold separately) is a bit clunky. , so consider the Amprobe 37XR-A, which has no serial ports but can measure inductance - a useful feature. While I have no major complaints, the device does have room for improvement. For example, the continuity test is very slow (even if you touch the probes, it takes some time before the beep sounds), and the selector switch is a bit soft. In other words, it shares many of the Amprobe 34XR-A's shortcomings that Dave Jones addresses in his $100 Multimeter review (YouTube search). However, the internals of the 38XR-A are better than the 34XR-A. (For example, the 38XR-A does not have a loose piezo buzzer.)
