I was wanting to install a backup camera on one of my cars but unfortunately the wiring and location on the dashboard makes it VERY difficult to route the wires from the back to the front. I did it with a dashcam and won't do it again. I did a little research and saw people saying this rear camera is great. The price was a little high, but so far I haven't been disappointed. I installed it and routed the wires into the trunk where I used the supplied ferrules to connect them to the wires going to the reverse lights. I inserted the antenna into the trunk release clip to keep it in place and not rub. I was a bit worried about the reception but it wasn't a problem. For the screen, I already had a suction cup surface installed, but I was happy to see that a new type of suction cup with glue on it was used here. It's really a way of securing things in cars. I just glued it to the surface of the suction cup and adjusted. I routed the wiring to the dash where I have the accessory wiring for the dash cam and hooked it up to it. The hard display cable was a little annoying as the wire is really really thin and looks like aluminum or something so it doesn't hold its shape, but I eventually got it working for me. I haven't had any performance issues. The screen is already paired with the camera at the factory, so you don't need to pair them. I chose to keep the guides because they are quite small. The screen is bright enough at half brightness to see in the sun and it works great. The only thing I would like to change is that the red car image does not appear on startup and after turning off the camera. If it just showed a black screen instead, it would be much better. Overall I am very happy with this rear camera. There were minor complaints, but not seriously affected. I definitely recommend it, as do other people on the internet. Now I understand why!
