Review on Lenovo ThinkPad Professional E248W (Model 40AF0135US) by Michael Hess

We currently have about 20 of these docks in service and give them out with all our new laptops. I've been using many of them for over a year. It's a great little device and we've had very few issues with it so far. Docks work with older devices too, so some of our older USB-A-only devices might even get dual screens. Note, however, that USB-A does not have the same power delivery options. Sometimes this will (slowly) charge the device. Other times, it's not an option at all. This is to be expected from USB-A, so don't throw away your old power supply just yet! In addition, this docking station works with other brands. For example Microsoft Surface Pro as well as Dell XPS. I'm sure others do too. I particularly like the tandem HDMI/Displayport option for each monitor. We have many monitor models in use so it's impossible to tell in advance what type of ports they have, but 95% of the time it's either HDMI or Displayport. So since this dock has both, it saves me the hassle of going back to my desk for another cable. The only problem we encountered is a Samsung monitor model that doesn't wake up after sleeping. Resetting the USB cable will fix the problem, but it's still an inconvenience. Overall, however, these are wonderful devices that I highly recommend with 5 stars. Thanks for a great product Lenovo!
