This kettle is solid and at a fantastic price. This is attractive to the eye but is effective in keeping the tea hot. I pour in boiling water before adding more for tea. It stays hot for a long time. I usually like to brew tea for 15 minutes and have never had a teapot with hot tea in it. It might seem like a small thing, but it's those little things that make this teapot awesome! The handle stays up when not in use, but folds down to get out of the way when adding water. Thought it might loosen up after doing this for a while but so far so good.2. The tea infuser is very fine-meshed and therefore works very well with loose leaf tea. I even used finely grated fresh ginger and turmeric and not a single small piece came through. The spout is curved, making it easy to pour into a cup without making a mess.4. Enamelled black on the inside, stains are not visible. My glass and china tea utensils look stained by turmeric and darker teas, even if washed immediately. I didn't notice any chipping or flaking of the paint at all. I control and dry it well so it doesn't even break off from friction. I haven't used it for a couple of weeks and left some water on the bottom inside and it's been fine. I don't know how I managed to dry the spout, but I missed the inside. It has enough tea for 2 people with big cups, it's really enough for 4 people if you use a teacup. Judging by the reviews, I expected it to be smaller. I highly recommend this kettle! At this price you won't find anything that compares. This is my new favorite cauldron. I can't think of anything negative other than my tea not working for me.
