Case Comparison

Purchased Drive Logic DL64 for WD Passport and Toshiba Carnival drives. In fact, it's much larger than those two hard drives. At first I thought this might be a problem as the drive could move and thus defeat the purpose of the case. But it has very thick padding (see image) and actually holds 2TB drives, which are a bit thicker than 1TB, quite firmly and securely. 1TB drives slip a bit. It's big enough to fit my old LaCie Rugged FW drives, but it fits, but it fits better if I put the cable in an outside pocket, which is nice if there's a pocket. I guess another downside due to its size is that it takes up more space in your laptop bag, making your smaller "portable" drive a little less portable. I bought it for about the same price as the RevainBasics for My Passport case. I like this case better because it's smaller and therefore holds 1TB and 2TB drives more firmly, but you can only get it in black. I have multiple drives and wanted to have multiple different colored cases so that I can identify the different drives more easily without having to open the case to see which drive is inside. It definitely serves that purpose and offers enough protection in my opinion, especially for large drives. See photos for comparison of DL 64s (pink), RevainBasic (black hard case with blue drive), WD My Passport carrying case (soft black case), and legacy CaseLogic PHCD case (hard case with silver drive).
