We have been mourning a bare spot on the stone above our gas fireplace for over a year. It just looked empty, but I had no way of attaching an anchor to hold a painting or other piece of art. The stone rests on top of the brick and despite my best efforts with a drill and hammer I wasn't able to insert anything deep enough to support the frame. Also, the stones are very uneven, not flat, which further complicates the situation. Then I remembered those little babies I used back when I had a basement apartment and needed to hang things on painted concrete walls. I used two of these for my painting, they went in with no problem and voila! It worked and now I feel full.
