At this price point, the HD1 competes with something like the Jay Bird X4, which costs about $20 less depending on when you buy it. I bought and returned several pairs of X4s because I had quality issues with them, so I ended up spending the extra money on the HD1. Haven't had any quality issues so far and they sound fantastic. I also buy matching foam tips for all my headphones and would highly recommend them with this purchase. However, I do complain that the battery life is supposed to be longer, the dough itself is bulky and finally the lack of sweat/water protection. important to you, then maybe it's not for you. However, I value the sound and build quality above anything else you've been looking for.
