Been looking for a 40 grit diamond file, that wasn't really expensive, for a long time. This kit not only has the 40 grit (for really fast metal removal - for shaping operations), but also perfect gradation of grit to the very fine 600 grit file. Using this spectrum of grit grades, I've been able to roughly shape hardened knife blades and leatherman tools, then -going through the entire grit range of files- end with a polished (ending with the 600 grit file) finish; which can be made mirror polished by using wet-n-dry 800 and 1500 grit sand paper.
