I use this in the field to evaluate the quality of the sap coming from maple trees in spring. This saved me time and paid dividends by allowing me to identify the best trees with the highest sugar percentages. Example - I tap my tree and immediately check the sap in the field. I'm looking for 2% or more sugar content. If it's less than 2%, I turn on the faucet and move on to the next tree. When I find trees with a JACKPOT over 3%! Making maple syrup is expensive. This tool saves you time and money and allows you to focus on trees that produce the highest quality sap for production. In my opinion an invaluable tool!
