EVERYTHING I WANTED I KNEW BEFORE I BUYED THIS CAPTURE CARD

So I bought it because it was recommended to me by a YouTuber who has a similar streaming setup had for me (he was streaming Xbox from his Dell laptop which I wanted to do). Being a plug and play device I liked it a lot, as I had technological issues and OBS was hard enough to master on my own I didn't want to get a capture card with its own software that I had to completely relearn would have to . And since the Mirabox was cheap, I bought it straight away. Everything below is based on my experience streaming from my Xbox, so if you're buying it for the first time know that it only comes with an HDMI 3.0 cable. It doesn't include HDMI cables, so make sure you have your own cables (I recommend 4K HDMI cables for streaming). Keep in mind that this device only streams 32-bit, which means that if you're running OBS, you'll only be able to use OBS Studio. , not the newer Streamlabs OBS as I wrongly thought. One more thing: I thought I needed an HDMI switch (or a monitor with multiple HDMI slots) since I stream from my console, but I didn't! Once you connect the capture card to your console, computer, and monitor, because of the device pass-through, it will not only show up on your computer to show what you're streaming, but also on your monitor (which is very important for me because I'm streaming Overwatch and playing it on a smaller screen than usual which is driving me nuts). The capture card itself is a bit buggy, I won't lie. Depending on how old your laptop/desktop is (mine is 5 years old) it may take a reboot or two for the capture map to appear on devices in OBS/the OBS window to actually show what you are seeing. on your monitor. And it might be because of my current wireless connection to my internet (and the fact that I'm also streaming on my console, not just my computer), but there seems to be about a 15-20 second delay in my actual stream . But due to the price and the simplicity of the capture card, I'm generally happy with it!

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it says
